Having an Office at Home

Having an Office at Home

Have you ever wanted to make a home office but didn’t think you had enough space? Or maybe you thought there weren't enough hours in a day to make one? The numerous different designs and ways to turn ordinary living spaces into home offices make it possible for you to create any kind of office you’re looking for. We, at Crites & Riddell, have everything you need to create your idea of a perfect office space.

The Area

First off, you need to establish a room or area where you want to put your office. Remember that if you work at home or spend most of your time in the office, you're going to want to be comfortable. Windows should be taken into consideration so you can get enough sunlight during your day. Heating should also be thought about so you don't freeze during the winter. If space is tight, a simple corner could suffice as a mini office. When you have to limit your office to a small space, such as a living room corner or your small bedroom closet, Crites & Riddell have many different supplies so you can keep the small space clutter free. Think creatively and make sure to keep things well organized.

The Desk

Your desk doesn't always have to be an actual desk, you could substitute it for a table, a vanity or even an ironing board as long as you have the right tools. If you have a computer, make sure you have enough space for things such as the keyboard and mouse, speakers, a printer if needed, and enough space left for any paperwork needing to be done. A pen holder is always necessary to write some quick notes. Make sure you have a good chair to support your back, neck and head while you sit in front of a computer all day. Read up on some ergonomic ways to stay away from aches and pains associated with office jobs in order to avoid any future problems.

The Little Things

Lastly, make sure you have enough space for all of the little things you use from time to time, such as rubber bands and paperclips, extra printer paper and ink, white out for any mistakes and even a little snack or sweets to munch on. Drawer dividers are super handy for things like these, as they provide multiple layers to your otherwise cluttered drawer.
