5 Hot Modern Office Trends for 2015

A Brand New Year

The year has turned and here we are in 2015. Along with a brand new year rolling out, we have a lot of new updates and developments happening to the modern day office. With the health and safety of office workers at the top of the list of priorities, we were curious about what trends would continue strong in the coming year. From ergonomic office furniture to work environments, we’ve scooped up a few hot trends that will make this year your best year in the office.

1. Turning a New Leaf, Going Greener

Turning a new leaf and going green is no new idea, but it is ever increasing and developing. Expect to see more advancement in 2015 in the area of paperless offices, green office supplies, green cleaning and breakroom supplies, as well as green office furniture and equipment. As businesses and manufacturers continue to supply the growing demand for green and sustainable products, the choices in these areas will only continue to grow.

2. Advanced Ergonomics

Ergonomic office furniture has been around for a while now, but there are new developments that further enhance ergonomics in the office. Addressing issues like personal mobility and special use requirements, modern ergonomics will address very specific user needs. Going further than supporting basic human anatomy, ergonomic office furniture will allow for multiple users to easily adjust furniture according to their personal use and needs. The materials used to fashion ergonomic office furniture also has advanced into more sustainable materials, natural materials and recycled materials.

4. Second Hand Office Furniture

This is one trend that continues to gain popularity. Not just due to the fact that you save a lot of money buying used office furniture, buying second hand office furniture answers a growing consumer demand for eco-friendly business practices and office supplies. As more and more businesses become conscious of economical and earth-friendly practices we will only see more and more businesses buying second hand office furniture.

5. Office Working Environment Advancements

This too has already changed leaps and bounds from even ten years ago. Gone are many of the old-world office environments, crammed with files, paper and stuffy working environments. Expect to see this trend to continue in 2015. With leading innovators in the corporate industries demanding creativity and ingenuity, many of these same companies realize the need for working environments conducive to these qualities. Open air, natural light and green spaces have been the beginnings of the modern office, so expect to see even more office environments and work arrangements focused on the health and positive stimulation of their users.
